Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart by Eleanore Roosevelt
My poem about friendship by Laurel D. Rund

When my friends reach out, our souls connect.
Something indescribable fills the air as
we speak of our day,
our successes, our fears or our difficulties.
It’s about being there for each other
~ picking up where we left off ~
knowing instinctively what to say or do.

The rules are quite simple.
We open our hearts, tell our stories, and,
if asked for, give heartfelt advice.
When we talk about life’s
challenges or troubles,
we offer empathy, support and reassurance.
While describing a vision or a dream,
our unique potential is validated.
And, when there is a victory, we cheer in triumph
and revel in delight!
Through the bond of time, history, and caring,
our foundation is reinforced.

When my friends reach out ~ it is a treasure,
it is a gift!

I've been discovering that this amazing treasure is available.
"It is not good for man to be alone."
Friends can see in our blind spots- and guide us to safe passage.

Friends, true friends can never be lost. That is a real consolation. Lovers and even loves can be lost, but true friends, never!

I completely agree, Laurel. True friendship is indeed a treasure. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Love and best wishes,

It would be a better world if everyone could have that kind of friendship, but it takes a great connection and good communication to arrive at a level of trust and empathy that will benefit by good intentions all those that you can touch.
