a welcome home

.
My excitement was increasing
As I heard the train whistle blow
You were finally back again
My sweetheart coming home
.
I recognized you the moment
You stepped off the train
So handsome in your uniform
You looked exactly the same
.
I had a secret smile on my face
As you ran into my arms
I bought a special nightie
That showed off all my charms
.
Your arms held me so tightly
I sighed in your embrace
Tears flowed from my eyes
Your lips I ached to taste
.
Smiling as I drove us home
To our house on the hill
My special surprise was waiting
To give your heart a thrill
.
We were only married for a very short time
Before you had to go away
I cried myself to sleep that night
And for your safe keeping I did pray
.
You carried me up the stairs
Through our bedroom door
And on the bed laid my surprise
Your mouth almost hit the floor
.
A black satin nightie
Sheer as it could be
Laid there so nicely
Just waiting for me
.
I smiled and picked it up
And slowly walked away
You stood there staring
It was going to be your lucky day
.
The music was soft
The candles did glow
Sinful in satin
I was ready for the show
.
I made you sit upon the bed
As I gazed into your eyes
Swaying to the music
You looked pleasantly surprised
.
Sinfully in satin
You couldn’t believe your eyes
I planned this whole thing
Just to hear your loving sighs

Sinful in satin is alluring, Kathleen. I wonder if Satan wears satin? God's a cotton man! hehe!

Kathy,

It's always wonderful when a loved one comes home, ...and then there's the fun part!. Seriously, very beautiful, sentimental write.
