I wrote this after I bought a used 18 wheeler. I was going into business for myself. But within the first week I was driving it, the think fell apart. I was seriously broken and it took three plus weeks and five thousand dollars later. So I sat down and wrote this.

Here I sit
facing yet another day.
Dreams of comfort
escape my captivated eye.
I can see in my minds eye
wistful bliss
for a fleeting moment
and then,
a roadblock,
a hurdle,
a storm blowing through,
grabs me
and back to my ever vigilant
exhausting reality
cooks my Christmas goose
and here I sit.
Here I sit
pondering the future .
Once more
a familiar friend,
an untamed heart,
my tormented soul,
has captured my dreams
and placed them
on a stoop,
at the top of the stairs,
behind a glass door,
just beyond reach,
but in captivating view.
to find the key
here I sit.
Here I sit
lifting the veil
to a hidden agenda.
Finding the map
to the top of the stairs
has become my lifes
that which marks my existance,
feathers my bed,
brings light to the visions
Dancing among the cinders,
warming my heart,
so here I sit.
Here I sit
what is it
keeping my fire
warming the heart
pumping life through
my earthly body
and driving my soul,
is it
here I sit?

This reminds me of my dad's first car purchased from a "friend." It was sadly in need of repairs that were not immediately obvious. Thanks for sharing, Karen. Love and best wishes,

Karen, I thought that same thing when I was in college and the transmission, clutch and rear axle went out on my 1940 Ford Pick-up...dang thing was reaally pretty but dead on arrival.
