ďBehind every furry face,

There is a story;

And far too often today,

Itís a bloody, barbaric one.Ē

Mary Tyler Moore

Someone had spotted him, just the other night

Not far from the last three, we recently found

Forlornly wandering, on a cold winterís night

He didnít seem to know, where he was bound

Forlornly wandering, out there in the bitter cold

Limping, as he now wandered out there, all alone

We wondered, if he were lost, or dumped, out there

We sadly wondered, why this good boy, had no home

Several kind souls began heading out, every cold night

Searching for this limping wanderer, out there, all alone

No food, no shelter, no one to love, or to care for him

No dog should ever have to live like this, without a home

We have now found him; now he has food, shelter, and care

Weíve also discovered that he has frostbite, on one of his legs

No Collar, No Tag, No Microchip, and of course, not neutered

How we treat manís best friend these days, is a damned shame

Far too many pets are being born these days,

Who are now being dumped, and left behind;

They would never treat us in this cruel manner,

So I sadly wonder, what is wrong with our kind.

Behind every furry face,

There is a story;

And far too often today,

Itís a bloody, barbaric one.

And Iím extremely glad,

That this dog is now safe,

Before the Blizzard of 2011,

Has later today, begun.

Oh! My heart breaks when I hear about stories such as this, Ed! Thank God there is still at least a little humanity left in this world! There are far too many humans that are completely heartless! I pray they will face justice one day....maybe not in this life...but who knows! Thanks for putting this stuff out there....maybe it will make some think twice about buying a pet and they'll rescue some poor homeless waif instead....
