Yesterday
we cried for the memory of a time
never again to be born
the pages of our Yearbooks
are tattered and torn
but within

Yesterday
we cried for the memory of a time
never again to be born
the pages of our Yearbooks
are tattered and torn
but within
we discovered roses
nestled in the secrets of a romance
that ended long ago
back then
little did we know
as rose petals died
tears we cried
would speak of memories lost
in the winds of time

Yesterday,
we rode piggy-back
through the playground of our dreams
the future would SCREAM
grab a hold
but...
in the eye of the hurricane
we were unaware of the desruction
surrounding our lives
we tried 2 survive
but the winds of change
would cast our dreams aside

Life..
was a lie
we lived everyday as if
every moment was a stone
forming a bridge over the tempest
and through that belief
we shaped futures that would
fade...
in the winds and leave us
wishing and hoping for...
yesterday

Yesterday
we hugged one another
on the steps of Graduation Hall
and tasted the salty tears
of our fears
as we embraced hard and long
singing our favorite songs
as we watched the hope
of our morning dissolve within
the harsh reality
of our foolish evdeavors

and yes..
though we are left with
the shattered reminder
of a rose long died
we MUST find comfort
in our demise
for..on the shoulders of
Yesterday
we will laugh
we will hug
and..
if need be
WE WILL CRY

God Bless one and all
