"No one can develop freely in this world and find a full life without feeling understood by at least one person." Paul Tournier

A Friend

A friend is someone
You can call upon
Anytime your heart is burdened;
A friend will listen patiently
And offer opinion only if you ask;
A friend will laugh and cry with you;
And not condemn or mercilessly interrogate;
A friend will never divulge a secret shared
For then that would be a tattle-tale;
A friend like that you should avoid!

If now you say you have no friend
In whom you can trust with all your heart;
For you had several bosom friends before
Only they have left you hurt and deeply scarred;
It’s best then to make Jesus your personal Friend
He never tires of listening, asks no questions
And has no need to gossip about your pain;
He has a heart that is compassionate
He will gladly take your load;
Offer comfort and peace,
No more burdens
No more pain!

“But it is good for me to draw near to God;
I have put my trust in the Lord God,
That I may declare all thy works.”
 (Psalm 73:28)

H. Lena,

Very beautiful message regarding friendship and the Lord. They go hand in hand.
