she haunts the halls of debutantes

in a satin gown of white

she dances across the marble tiles

like she danced that fateful night

her smile seems a vague memory

ghastly in the waning cob-webbed light

and a trail of blood appears

to fill the faint of heart with fright

they say the crash was circumstnace

though some say a lover's fight

they found the wreck of the two cars

in the morning after light

his high school going steady ring

clutched in her fingers tight

each year on the sixth of June

on the anniversary of the night

her ghost dances in the closed down hall

from dusk till morning light...

Your poem creates an aura of sadness plus just the right amount of creepiness to bring a haunting zing to the poem, reminding us that tomorrow evening is All Hallows Eve! I enjoyed this immensely. A good tale.
