I thank you, Lord for you have seen to give me your loving grace
For I am simply lowly man whose imperfection is hard to face
I praise you that you sent your only son, Jesus to come to this planet Earth
For only because he paid the price of my sin can I obtain any worth
As the apostle Paul once wrote, “Oh sinner that I am, who is there who will save me?”
My salvation was bought for me when Jesus Christ was hung upon that tree
He was ridiculed and punished though he was perfect and this is how salvation came to me
I sing praises and glorify your name because you showed for me such love
It was those imperfect ones like me for whom he was lifted up above
“My Father,” I pray. “I bare my soul to thee and I confess to thee”
“And I pray this prayer with humility for the love you show for me”
