For I Have Lived
Am I merely luminous stardust?
Broiled within the cauldron of man
Upon this world in which we live, life is never fair nor unjust
For I have lived in humility and understanding
What breed of thought, is seldom heard?
My heart has yearned, and I’ve felt its fears
And I have read the passionate words
In the silence, I’ve shed tears
No two wrongs shall make this right
No other secrets have I kept
What light that lingers alone in plight
There have been times I’ve had to adapt
What life is lived without regret
Alas one chance, I might forget
