A dark poem for you.

I stare up at the ruddy sunset  with glassy eyes.

The stars this night they scream my name and the demons within me they hammer and dig for their freedom. With a wet rip of my flesh multitudes of  these demons pour forth from the gaping wound in my belly.  They float out of me, coated with my scarlet  blood, out into the waiting world.   They  gasp in unison as the chill of the evening air greets them,  within moments however they are strong and they set about  ferociously consuming me in great chunks of gore.


Later when nothing but my bare bones remain the demons they take flight into the pitch night skies.  One by one as they pass over the salty crashing waves of the ocean  they scatter my bones hither and thither among the engulfing waves.

I watch them now from afar,  I sit as a newborn spirit  on the slopes of a mountain that lies close by to the scene of my death.   I stare up towards the demons who look  like bats swooping up and down within the night sky.

I scream at them “My ungrateful spawn how dare you  butcher your mother?”
