Gnomes

Gnomes have homes
Deep in the woods
That’s why you must step carefully
You must, you should

Gnomes have homes
Among the trees
They sleep in beds of moss
And eat berries from wintergreen

Gnomes have homes
Under mushrooms
They sing and dance
When there is a full moon

Gnomes have homes
And live with their loved ones
They work very hard
At the rise of the sun

Gnomes have homes
And children go to school
Where they learn
And play by the Gnome’s rules

Gnomes have homes
And gardens, too
They plant forget-me-nots
So pretty and blue

Gnomes have homes
And travel by foot
Or on the backs of hummingbirds
To fly to the next nook

Gnomes have homes
Just like you and me
If you don’t believe
Then Gnomes you cannot see.
