Dresses of lace......

Our angels are three years old and Vickie is recovering from her second surgery for Luxating Patella on 12/27/2010. She is slowly beginning to walk again. Physical therapy and now water therapy. Soon, with God's help she will be good as new.

Sami is on the left.
Vickie is on the right.

                Dresses of lace.....

Warm, slight breeze, birds flying around,
the hint of spring can be felt this day.
Where are our sweaters, harnesses, leashes,
now is the time for us to go outside and play.

Birchwood trees are all in full bloom,
with dainty white flowers on display.
Too bad we are small and legs are short,
would like to hike to the top this day.

Well, guess the backyard will have to suffice,
thought we were taking mom and dad for a walk.
As we run, roll, jump, bark, pull, and yes, dig,
mom wanted a stroll with dad to quietly talk.

We took control and of course led the charge,
they should have worn skates, easier to keep pace.
Young, alive, and full of never ending energy,
A park? Are you kidding, and in dresses of lace?

Bulldogs, Rottweiler's, Shepherd's, and Collie's,
howling, making fun, having a field day.
We can show them, we will bite their ankles,
would bite higher, but their height gets in the way.

Big tall trees, squirrels and birds all around,
we ran over and all the birds flew in fright.
How did they do that? We cannot jump that high,
but we still tried to follow with all our might.

Gee, look at this park, sure has plenty of room,
we could run very fast and even hide some too.
Look, a giant tub with plenty of flowers and ripples,
come on, let us go, see the water so pretty and blue.

Splash! Splash! Where are all our bath toys?
Look, slimy things and where are the bubbles?
Why is mom and dad screaming our names?
They appear funny, but we might have troubles.

What is all this wet stuff? Your fur looks funny,
everyone is laughing, our dresses are a mess.
Mom and dad are soaking wet, time to go home,
however, a really fun filled day we must confess.

A warm bubble bath, found our favorite toys,
dried with a towel, clean clothes, hugged, kissed.
Wow, what a day, hope we do this again,
but happy to be home, our dog bones we missed.

              Happy Birthday Angels!!!

                    Sami and Vickie

Oh my! its spring and I am so excited. lol Also a sweet touch of family. Thanks Karen. It helps as I go out to face the snow once more, I just heard a plow go by, the family is gone now, and the children have grown. What a beautiful opening of the mind you have created here, thanks again,
