johnny is a handsome little boy of nine years,
and he has moved many people to tears.
for he is a child of great courage and inspiration,
whose sunny outlook has touched an entire nation!
he has muscular dystrophy and uses a wheelchair;
it seems life for him isn't very nice or very fair.
he is dying, but he is so full of love, hope, and joy;
it's no wonder people are touched by this little boy!!
if he were to grow up, he knows just what he'd be:
a weatherman, forcasting weather for each city.
but he won't make it past the age of 13; he is so ill;
but for now, his young life is full of much goodwill!!
an angel from god, he's brightened his family' s life;
and to him there is no such thing as worry or strife!!
for life as it is now is what is most important to him;
this child who loves video games and a good swim!!
so, if you see his wheelchair or his braced up legs;
for, if you do, he'll maybe call you a big "goose egg"!!
just treat him with kindness and compassion is all...
this is the thing he desires and wants most of all!!
for pity is the LAST thing he needs right now....
he's *truly* a *hero*..oh, boy, and HOW!!!!

My dear Karen,
You are a special person with a special viewpoint, and you use it to great advantage to share with us all what we cannot see with eyes alone.
Through the words of your many short stories, articles and poems, you have passed on to many of us the gift of understanding and kindness and compassion, all to the betterment of humankind and, especially, those most challenged.
Bless you and your work.
