This Truly Horrendous Tragedy Was A Year Ago, Today;

And I Can’t Believe What This Guy Recently Had To Say:

“2010 Was The Best Year,

In Safety Performance,

In Our Company’s History!”

Transocean’s CEO

Eleven employees on their oil rig died

Over 200 Million Barrels of Oil, spilled

One of the Worst Disasters, in U.S. History

Yet, their chief executive is extremely thrilled

He’s thrilled, because he received a huge bonus

While so many Gulf Coast businesses, went under

Mile upon Mile of U.S. Coastline, were Decimated

Yet he got a Big Bonus, and a New Deal, to Plunder

This Oil CEO’s Yearly Bonus, and his Stock Options

And his Salary for 2010, were nearly Six Million Dollars

And now, our politicians are going to let them, do it again

Their ‘Best Year in Safety Performance’ he joyously hollers

And in the entire year, since this truly horrendous disaster

Our ‘leaders’ haven’t implemented one new safety regulation

Yet, they still proclaim that more drilling, will reduce gas prices

As the oil industry prepares to charge $5.00 per gallon, with elation

According to calculations by The Associated Press, the total value assigned to Transocean’s CEO’s compensation package in 2010 was $5.8 million.

This figure includes an $850,000 base salary — a whopping 34 percent increase from the prior year; perks totaling $622,057, which included extremely generous housing and vacation allowances; and a whopping $374,062 Bonus. Also included in this figure are his stock options valued at $1.9 million, and deferred shares valued at $2 million.

Yet, Transocean's Deepwater Horizon Oil Rig Explosion in the Gulf of Mexico a year ago, today killed 11 workers; set off the largest offshore oil disaster in U.S. history; ruined the livelihoods of thousands of American families and businesses; killed thousands and thousands of endangered marine animals and birds; and decimated mile upon mile of our once pristine coastal waters and shorelines, for countless generations to come.

Despite all of this, according to him, it was his company’s ‘best year ever in safety performance.’ That is one hell of a horrifying statement;   and this year, they just can’t wait to do it all again.

And Now, Get Ready for $5.00 a Gallon Gasoline;

But Hey America, Don’t You Worry – Be Happy.

This morning they were saying $6.00.
It will be cheaper to go back to horses.
The CEO of British Petroleum said, before he resigned with a platinum parachute that he "just wanted his life back"... poor guy.

And our salvation from that disaster that this industry caused and this company was nothing man did! But once again a contingency built into nature (read bacteria) and again more than man, Nature's creatures took the biggest hit, especially the sea turtles and mammals, but fish too. Now all of us are allowing them to drill in the Arctic.

STAND AGAINST DRILLING IN ARCTIC WATERS! There will be no helping hand from nature if they spill there. The disaster will be compounded.
I am thankful I have chosen a lifestyle that reduces my gas consumption to a minimum...I intend to keep it. My microwave is in the trash and I'm not buying another. I'm using the old broken TV and if i do buy a new computer it better be an energy efficient laptop.

Thanks brother for standing up for nature's right to be unmolested by man!

All I can say is that this is absolutely Criminal...Our government is pathetic. There are so many sea creatures that have strange bacterial infections and other things what about that? Nothing makes sense to me any more.
As far as the gas prices, it's crippling the average american, it costs so much more to heat our houses and run our cars and our incomes are not going up at all to even stay level..It's criminal I say absolutely criminal...
You are such a loud and clear voice..thank you for posting this.

Dancing around the golden calf, greed, greed, greed, no matter what, no matter all the lives lost, human and creatures, and all the hardships left behind, yet to the real issues most are blind.
When will it change? When our priorities change, and if we don't make the effort, someone else will surely point the way, let your imagination by your guide, the possibilities for a global meltdown are too numerous to mention. Bless ya! Jasmin Horst

Greed and money-hungry idiots will bring about the destruction of all that truly matters on this planet....the powers that be still don't get the fact that once our precious oceans, forest, plants, animals, etc. are gone....there's no going back. Thanks for putting this out there, Ed.
