Lord, If ever our nation needs prayer It is today Television screams the news Look what the papers have to say America is in turmoil We don't know what to do We hear Praise be to Obama But Lord, I praise only you Lay Your hand on our nation, Lord Take away our fears We need a great healing, Lord Would you dry America's tears... There's children being abused There's malice in the air Murderers line death row Does anybody care Our soldiers are being killed Our homeless live in the street There's someone out there somewhere Who has nothing at all to eat Lay Your hand on our nation, Lord Take away our fears We need a great healing, Lord Would you dry America's tears... Our flag still waves proud We are the land of the free But at what price is our freedom If our nations don't agree Lord, we need your healing touch Cover us with your grace If all eyes would be on YOU Everything would fall into place Lay Your hand on our nation, Lord Take away our fears We need a great healing, Lord Would you dry America's tears... So much hatred in this world Lord, we need you now I want to make a difference If you'll only show me how Teach us to love one another, Lord To put down our guns and knives Dear Lord, I know your wish for us Is to live much better lives. To have tears - you need to have eyes. Eyes that see. Eyes that will do. Eyes that motivate one to stop all the hate. Eyes that will do something before it's too late. Great poem Linda db

Linda, I believe that you have written a beautiful poem calling attention to a multitude of ills our country is facing. I'm not a believer and don't consider praying as a solution, but if it brings about more awareness of the problems and causes people to vote for the people who can invoke the desired outcome, I'm all for it.
