Affinity
By La Belle Rouge

she had a deep affinity for him
as though she knew him
better than she knew herself

she gloried in his fierce kisses
and inhaled his scent
with a familiar excitement

it seemed as though he had often
caressed the most intimate
warm niches of her body and soul

it was as if a name lost in time
remained in her memory
sweetened the tip of her tongue

until, lost in a vast wilderness
of untamed dreams,
their eyes embraced once again

as they had a thousand times before
on other shores, other nights
when they softly sighed forgotten names

5/13/2011 La Belle Rouge

Music "Nocturne"

Belle, this is absolutely perfect. The music, the photo, both enhanced magnificently by the words. I always like your offerings, but this whole package really hit home.

Thanks Dick

PS: I wonder if you would object to me borrowing your photo for a poem I posted in February titled Moonlight on the Water. I searched and searched for a nice photo, but nothing that I found compared to this one.
