Is there anything more splendid than a sunrise on a lake? Nature is truly awesome!

Robins singing early morn, wildflowers in full bloom!
A hush surrounds the sparkling lake; the sun will be here soon.
Upon the springy forest rug, treading in bare feet
She hurries toward the water’s edge, another dawn to greet!
The forest whispers in her ear, “Hurry, day is nigh!”
In nature’s warm embracing hug, the only sound her sigh!
The early morning ritual is solace for her soul
Because the dawn belongs to her as the day unfolds!
She makes her way to her favourite place
A contented smile upon her face!
Upon the dock she takes a seat
In the chilly lake her dangling feet!
A dewy mist rises into the air
Leaving the lake pristine and bare!
The eastern sky begins to glow
Crimson and gold the horizon grows!
Holding her breath, mesmerized by the sight
She watches day consume the night!
Neath a blue sky the colour of the sea
The sun ignites the lake near the trees!
Tossing a handful of gems her way
She whispers, “Thank you”, and starts her day!

Quietly beautiful, Annabel. If I can't get to the sea, I can't
offhand think of anything I'd rather do in the early morning
hour than dangle my feet from your dock and watch the sun rise
on your lake. -gene/

Anna, I have always loved early morning. Eighty percent of all that I've written was written between the hours of 5:30 and 8:30. There is a lake across the street from me... Well, I'd have to cut through someone's back yard to get to the lake directly across from me but I can get to it via the cul de sac at the end of the street, but just to have the quiet peace of early morning has always, kind of, set the day for me.
Good poem my friend.

The rhymic roll of this delightful poem is awesome! As a youg girl, I used to bicycle to the beach to see the sunrise; the peace and tranquility there was a beautiful way to start the new day... thanks for reminding me how wonderful the memories are. An enchanting read.

Is there anything more splendid than a sunrise on a lake?

If there is, I'd sure like to know about it. My dogs often wake me before dawn, and we rush out there to take it all in, one more time.

Lovely Poem, Annabel.
