I hope old Ruffie is happy wherever he may be...

It’s been almost two full years,

For my boy I have shed some tears,

I miss him when I see a show about a dog,

Wish I still drank, I could bury the feeling with a few beers…

His picture is still hanging around,

Maybe if I was trying to forget this might not be sound,

But in reality, I still want another Rufuz,

I just don’t want any old dog, for another him I am bound…

I truly hope where Ruffie did end up,

They took care of him & treated him like a pup,

He may have been over ten years old,

But I loved him just the same; he was my boy, yup…

I'm sure he's looking down on you with fondness ole friend. i think my Balanese cat, ABBY < channels Rufoid sometimes. She starts barking and won't leave me alone until I pour her a beer. Take those tears you shed for Rufus and put them in a bottle. Plant a little seed and water it with the tears. The blossoms will remind you of him. r

I can totally relate to this. A dog is not a pet but family and to lose one hurts like hell. But don't you know, all dogs go to heaven. Hugs, Liz

I understand. When The Nipperdawg died I immediately started looking for another mutt. Not to replace him, but to give my heart somewhere to go.
