as you sleep

When I close

my eyes

I am

a warm breath

against the back

of your neck,

a hand through

your hair,

a kiss

on your

collarbone…

yes…

a whisper

in your ear

When I finally

breathe

your name

every syllable

is a caress on your

inner-thigh,

a tickling

along

your spine,

an awakening

of

every

pore

…the suggestion

that there is

always something

MORE

And just then,

when you let out

that breath –

the one that says

you’ve lost

ALL control –

I’ll press

my lips

to

yours,

and

sink

like

a pearl

diving

deep

I am…

a warm breath…

caressing you

as

you

sleep

The elements of your poetry capture the oldest of transcending and for that I have a glimpse of life passing, between sunsets and dawns. Great work!

This is exotic to the nth, Sheila. Each line was bolder than the last and, like your breath, it continued raising expectations. Great sensuous read.

Goodness me oh my ... "As You Sleep" is the work of someone re-focused and energized. Affirmation and acceptance exudes from between the lines of this lovely waterfall of words Sheilafriend. Deftly you bless the reader with honeyed grace and deeper shades of your multi-faceted creative endowments. That's kinda like poetic cleavage. Haha (-:
