I still hold on

I don't know if it's wrong or right

Somehow you shine on

Through the darkest night

Maybe it's not real

But I can still feel you here

You still shine on

And quiet every fear

Like the glow from the moon

The light from the sun

You are everywhere I turn

Somehow we two are one

And you shine on

You need not speak

You don't have to say a word

Across lives and time

You will know I heard

And you shine on

You led me to water

You helped me believe

You gave me shelter

And offered reprieve

And you shine on

The promises you made

Live in our baby's eyes

When the wind whispers

And the lonely sparrow flies

You shine on

When I hold him close

When he takes my hand

And I lead as you lead

And one day we will stand

Shine on

When the nights grow empty

When the days seem dark

Your spirit shows the way

The flint that births the spark

And you shine on

No, you don't have to speak

You don't need to say a word

Across worlds and the heavens

You will know I heard

Shine on

Nothing could be more real to me

Than knowing you are near

To help me quiet a little one's cries

And calm his every fear

You shine on

We still hold on

And somehow it feels just right

Together we will outlast the longest of the nights

And we will shine on

We will shine on
