I am a part-time instructor/professor and I select work carefully at a local university. I try to teach in areas and situations that are most difficult for others. I love the challenge!

An Instructor’s Dream

There is a yearning that I have deep inside.

It’s simply to teach others; I’ve got nothing to hide.

You don’t have to buy my program or hire me full-time.

In some situations, I don’t want a dime.

But if I can change a child’s life and make things like new.

There is almost nothing that I would not do.

But I know schools are competitive and many others want jobs.

Some need a career and feel threatened, others act like snobs.

Because when it comes to education, the politics are thick.

But I have passed that stage, so why don’t the others just quit!

I am in this profession to help a student who seems out of reach.

So the next time you see that kid, just call me and I’ll gladly teach!

Reference: Deuteronomy 32:2 Let my teaching fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants.

John, this is a wonderful poem in which you share your heart's desire. God bless you as you do HIS work with every student you are given.

You share your heart brilliantly, John. Funny thing, I feel the same:I want to teach others how simple it is to live this life, regardless of who or what you are, once the focus is on Jesus; I want to teach others (young and old) that the baggage we carry ourselves is needless because Jesus said to "cast all our burdens upon Him..."; I want to teach others that we are here because of God's plan and purpose, not ours! How right you are about the politics, and I add the so-called "political correctness" that offers eternal salvation! Yes, I really like this write for the sincerity and compassion of your heart shines: "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in Heaven." Matt 5:16

Abundant Blessings,

I really love this right-on, compassionate poem, John. I'm sure I have a kid for you to work some magic on right here!

Exactly what JESUS would do. Excellent rhyme to go with this very inspiring writing, John Michael.

Teaching is it's own reward. I taught/instructed for 30 years and with just a few exceptions, enjoyed every minute of it! Wonderful poem, touched my heart... remembering. Good photo too.
