I never dreamed Iíd live through anotherís eyes
The day I walked into that old dusty ancient isle
The antique store took on a different distant air
The day I found that musty tapestry covered journal there
She spoke of feelings that she felt way deep inside

Of forbidden love for no one elseís peeking eyes
I put the journal back upon the creaky dusty shelf
But thought about her life, for I just couldnít help
To feel the mist she spoke of on her withered brow
I could see the lake they often met at now

I knew if I didnít leave that place in time
It would surely wither away my mind
I gazed back to the dusty ancient isle
And thought of Anna for a little while
I felt relief to think they still walk arm and arm
That the forbidden love she felt for him continues on

I enjoyed this poem although it made me sad. Even permitted love seems forbidden to me for a long time now, and it seems I shall never again walk down the aisle.
