Yesterday in my adopted state,
There was a great political debate,
You know everything here,
Is bigger in Texas,
Our women,
Our beer,
And in this case,
Even our mud.
You see this November,
We are supposed to carefully select,
A candidate to run this state.
All campaign season,
We have been bombarded with ads,
Each call the other bad.
If you would believe one,
The other's a crook,
It doesn't make a difference we may loose no matter who wins.
Now, how silly can we be,
I thought people entered politics to serve
The country,
If not the country,
Maybe our state,
If not the state,
Who do they serve,
Who do they lead.
The legislature meets ever other year,
Not so bad, you have less money in arrears,
However, because of the now there is a budget shortfall.
Oh, never mind, we are short of cash,
We have one candidate who can solve all of that.
It appears that so far he has spent more than 50 million,
Of his own dollars mind you.
Now, let me think, I can solve all of this,
We don’t need a great debate.
Please let us not pretend,
Put Tony Sanchez in charge of the money,
Let him write all of the checks.
You say that sounds rather funny?
In all do respect, I know it does,
But, afterall, if you own the bank,
Isn't it your money?
Now, if Sanchez was in charge of bank,
All he would do is write himself a check,
Perry would then tell him to cash and that would be that.
We would have a balanced budget,
The state would have a leader,
And we would have nor more use,
Of these two people who look so uncomfortable in their suits.
We didn't elected him,
We don't need him,
He didn't know those credit scores,
And it's not his fault the drug dealers put money in his bank.
Oh, this is not mud,
This is our Texas soil!
