Beach Shack Lovin’

If we could buy a beach shack
A private place for us to share
I’d hitch-hike across a continent
If you would only meet me there

We'd walk barefoot over sand dunes
Live in just our bathing suits
Get in rhythm with the ocean’s tides
They'd entwine our mortal roots

We’d catch dinner from the ocean
Watch for midnight falling stars
I’d make up stories to amuse you
About our magic trip to Mars

I’d play you love songs by a fire
When the sunset stole the day
And when the mermaids came to visit
With them we’d surely play

When the fire-flies said goodnight to us
Hand in hand to walk content as one
To the lumpy bed inside our beach shack
To make sweet love now that day is done….

Such imagery that I can relate to, so fresh from my trip to Prince Edward Island.
The Maritimes, particularly this exquisite island, has captured my heart. Wonderful wonderful poem!

Any lovin' is great. Beach lovin is far superior. Add in the mermaids, fire-flies etc. and you've come pretty close to paradise.

This one takes me there, nicely done Fee. Thanks Dick
