When I’m not out trying to help them,

I read animal rescue stories sent to me;

This tiny left behind touched my heart,

I hope his story makes many humans see

“Clearly, this little dog is special,

“He possesses a trust and confidence,

That has amazed and inspired us.”

Animal Protective Foundation Staff

Fighting for life, in a flooded street

In the aftermath of Hurricane Irene

A brave, 12-year old, left on his own

Tiny Chihuahua, who could barely see

A Good Samaritan eventually scooped him out

And then brought him to an Animal Rescue group

Despite the massive publicity, no one claimed him

This little left behind, was even featured on the news

So many abandoned animals would be lost without the rescue groups

When no one came forward, they gladly paid for his needed surgery

This brave little left behind orphan, required extensive dental work

Afterward, he was feeling much better, despite not being able to see

And soon, they put the word out that this tiny, brave, storm survivor

Was ready to be adopted, and looking forward to a loving new home

A compassionate woman soon stepped forward, and offered him hers

His new best friend is her Pit Bull, and now, he no longer has to roam

Please Support Animal Rescue Groups In Your Own Area,

As One Who Does Rescue Work, I Know We Truly Need Them;

And Please Consider Fostering or Adopting an Abandoned Animal,

A Lot More Assistance is Needed, to Bring Their Suffering, to an End.

Beautiful end to such a tragic tale! The picture is absolutely precious! God bless the animals...they are so much more compassionate than a lot of humans!

Another great story of love and redemption,
there are some good people around...not that many
but some, and some can make a real difference.
Incredibly encouraging picture we can all learn from.
Bless you every day, Ed.
