Connected

Alone, and in his mind

He etches on a wall

Every day left behind.

Each day that prolongs

He clings onto hope

Home is where he belongs.

At home, and in her mind

Etched memory on The Wall

Every day he’s left behind.

Together, they connect

Their hope will never fail

One day, they will prevail.

This poem evoked several thoughts such as you waiting until you and a loved one are reunited. But I also thought of the 2 men who were just released from Iran recently. I'm sure they were marking time also. Love it. Liz
