Winter's Garden

The heart that sees the colors bloom
Beneath the silvered black and gray…
Can taste the beauty of the frost
That in December comes to stay.

Beyond the faded, lifeless hills
Adorned with icy prisms white…
A shimmering of secret hopes
Awaken in the winter night.

Where magic weaves within the beams
The moon shines down upon this earth…
The dance of death plays in the wind
Yet only sleeping for rebirth.

The chill that lingers in the air
Refreshes and revives the soul…
To purge the worn and tired dreams
That burning summer sun had stole.

The frozen lakes with glassy surface
Mirror heaven’s awesome powers…
Spilling light into the shadows
Of this universe that’s ours.

Crystal clear becomes the veil
That separates us from the view…
To capture life in still reflection
Giving sight a gift anew.
