Sometimes a song is only a song
and a dance is just a dance.
Sometimes we hum just a little too long
and the rythme of love is just a trance.
For me it's been a little hard to let go.
But this little girl
has had a hard roe to hoe.
Sometimes a beautiful star is seen only one night,
and other dark nights the clouds block out that star's light.
Some days the sun burns a little too bright,
and others it shines as hope seems to take flight.
For me it's been a little rough to grow up,
as if I hadn't a proper sip from the cup.
Sometimes a word is only a word,
and a flower blooms for only an hour.
Sometimes we give to much hope
to the sight of a bird,
and to love we often give far to much power.
For me it's been a little tough to move on,
like the day ended at dawn.
Sometimes our thoughts stray too long on a beautiful poem,
and sometimes we stand too long on the beach.
Sometimes for a second a wave tears from the ocean,
pushing for what seems just out of reach.
For me it's been a little more than life's grand adventure
It's been learning to give life my resistance's surrender.
