The Rain

I wrote this when I felt like I had hit bottom. Then an angel named Revonda came into my life and with her came the sun.

When the rains came
They left me not the same.
Washing away all my dreams,
Disolving my life at the seams.

I built a levee to contain
And protect what was left from the rain.
On an island in an endless sea,
Each wave reaching to take what was left of me.

But then the sun shone bright
And put and end to the shroud of night.
A beatiful angel had appeared.
But not to take my soul as I'd feared.

She reached out to me from above
And planted inside me the seed of love.
The levee began to crumble and break.
Waters to nourish...not to take.

The dreams inside were reborn,
And I stood on a bright clear morn.
Never again could rain steal
Or wash away all that I feel.
