the sadness rolls in
like a fog
it eases up on the
morning light
obscures the rising sun
wrestles its way
into the consciousness of
your mind

an idea
just the cat’s meow
like a whisker of thought
it forms a blankness
on the flimsy future of
sorrow and joy
happiness and tears
the fearful guilt

happy is a fuel
as the gauge nears E
the lamp light glows
in the nether world of
the far corner with
the messy madness of
your mind
now concentrating on
the boob tube

the security blanket
you hide under
your mind churning in
the foggy sad dew
the gears turning
rollicking and rolling
the thought forward
behind a pupil cajoling
closed tightly against
all intrusive shadows

the lens shuttered capturing
a light house
a coherent thought
of sunny brightness
a concrete tempature rise
a baromic pressure
as the sun heats
the atmosphere of
your mind
melting the sorrow
the fog now an afterthought
like the cat’s meow
