Something different

The hillside ablaze in yellows

Challenges Sol himself

A lens-less kaleidoscope turns

Before my very eyes

The glowing daffodils

Sway in the soft afternoon breeze

Swirling colors and patterns

A universe of motion

Invites me to complete my task

A daffodil for Silas

For a man who is slowly dying inside

Who pleads silently for acceptance

Who publically drives the wedge

Between those who might care

Between those who do care

Is my confidant

Is my enemy

Knows me well

My bouquet of one

A daffodil for Silas

Thank you for sharing, Paztrick. The story your poem tells sounds all too familiar. I've had to deal with Narcissus' in my life, and also the Narcissus I often become.
