(Photo Above of a true prayer warrior...Rhonda)

What is a prayer warrior, and all those who say ‘I will keep you in my prayers’…Do they really pray, or has it just become a cliché? I personally know of two prayer warriors that are truly committed to prayer on behalf of others in need. One such person is my mother-in-law of my late wife Leah, and yes, even though Leah has been gone now three years and counting, she will ALWAYS be my mother-in-law. She has been more like a mother to me since my own mom passed away ten years ago yesterday.

The other such individual that I personally know to be a true prayer warrior is a beautiful, sweet and compassionate lady who lives in Pennsylvania. Her name is Rhonda Galizia and she and her husband Joe have become very dear to me in so many ways. She first came into my life at a most opportune time just shortly before my late wife Leah was diagnosed with terminal cancer. She along with my mother-in-law prayed me through the loss of Leah and they both have been there for my own battle with cancer. Rhonda’s husband Joe even stepped in and became my intercessor which a duty not to be taken lightly.

So what is a true prayer warrior? It is someone who has a true and loving relationship with God. It is someone who despite all the difficulties and infirmities that they themselves may face goes to God on your behalf. They have faith to believe even when your own faith wanes. They commit with all their heart and soul into the lamentation of which they cry forth unto the heavens. May we all become prayer warriors and pray for others without ceasing and have the faith to believe for those who in times of weakness struggle to believe for themselves.

Let Us Pray

Hands lifted high with prayers of the heart on their lips.

Stars shine bright into the night and in praise, others they lift.

No fear penetrates the mighty wall of their firm belief.

Praying now do they for others without ceasing; bringing hope to those in need.

Their prayers filled with the embodiment of Christ rushing and coursing through their veins.

Voices united and unwavering even in the darkest of nights kneeling in earnest before HE who truly reigns.

So who are they and from where do they come?

They come from all walks of life and truly love the Lord.

They lift others up to Jesus in prayer and truly believe, “it is done”.

Thank God for prayer warriors.

Thank God that they continue to pray.

Thank God and may they through their self-sacrifice be blessed in every way.

I pray, Allen, yet I do not consider myself one of those faith-endowed individuals I call "Prayer-Warriors." Rhonda most definitely is a prayer warrior, who humbles me with her faith and faithfulness. I am deeply honored to be the object of prayer by such as these.
This is a wonderful, truthful poem. I'm glad you wrote and shared a tribute to the prayer warriors in our lives.

Oh my heart, my Bubba.. I almost fell off my chair! Just to be considered in the same context as Rev. Looney is a very high honor in itself, but I do not deserve all these accolades.. it is Christ in me. HE is faithful. I am just the vessel He courses through. You spoke it with exactness when you penned,
'Their prayers filled with the embodiment of Christ rushing and coursing through their veins.' How magnificent is your own gift!

And truly, dear Brother, everything you spoke of me, I can speak of you, as well. Talk about faithful..

Listen.. I love you, my Bubba, and you make me cry... esp. since you posted that picture.. could you at least shrink it? :/

Don't laugh too hard, Bubba! ;) Joe, Jason & I love you, Jan, JD & Inis very much. So take good care of yourselves.. there is still much more for all of us to do!

I leave you with this, my Bubba.. You have elevated my spirit.. and my heart has burst into psalm, so I shall leave you with praise..

HE IS EXALTED - THE LORD IS EXALTED - AND I WILL PRAISE HIM!
HE IS EXALTED - THE LORD IS EXALTED - AND I WILL PRAISE HIS NAME!
HE IS THE LORD - FOREVER ON EARTH HE WILL REIGN
HE IS EXALTED - THE LORD IS EXALTED ON HIGH!

HALLELUJAH!

Wonderful poem about prayer warriors. Rhonda and others fight spiritual battles day and night. They are subject to attack because of what they do. Prayer warriors need prayer too! Amen

Good point about people who say, "will keep u in my prayers"...I have wondered about that myself, since I am one of those that have said it and did not do it...as always a great write, opening the eyes of us all...e
