Resuming from where we left off last year with the ongoing story of Felicity, Todd and Cynthia…

(For those needing an update, check out FACTs 1-8)

As the saga continues, Todd and Felicity rekindled their transitory affection for one more stolen night of passion, but Todd tells her this must be their final encounter, as he must return to Cynthia for good.  As he leaves, Felicity tucks this poem in his blazer pocket.

It may be just my imagination
telling me we hit it off,
telling me the games we played,
the hits we had were rough
and tumble, like the wars we fought;
But tonight that’s not enough.

It’s not enough you cheated,
not enough we can’t go back,
it’s not enough our desperation
cannot supply the love we lack.

Still and all, we have our games,
the snakes and ladders of our hearts,
the cloaks and daggers of our spirits,
and all our mutual luck imparts.

When the last die rolls subside,
when spy games all uncover,
then come what may abide,
you still will be my lover.

...stay tuned for further developments...

…but is that enough?

A lady scorned
Sir be forewarned
Can load the dice
With heart of ice
When love is war
or lover whore
desperation knows no bounds.

Love it.
