“Clean Coal!

It’s America’s Future!”

A New Television Commercial,

From The Coal Industry

‘Clean Coal’ - An Oxymoron If There Ever Was One

Music: Nostalgia

I was feeling quite nostalgic yesterday

I drove out to a childhood fishing hole

But I couldn’t even get out of my truck

It was now toxic, filled with slurry coal

‘Coal Slurry’ is the black, contaminated, liquid

That is left behind, in ‘the coal washing process’

It contains arsenic, lead, mercury, and selenium

My childhood fishing hole, now an abysmal mess

There was a time, when I had so joyously fished here

There was a time here, my dogs romped and played

The fish and the birds, and the clean water, are gone

My old childhood haunt, is a toxic, slurry pond, today

Even worse, more and more of America’s farmlands

Are being taken over by coal, gas, and oil operations

Which all now leave behind, tons of toxic contaminants

On land adjacent to food crops, also contaminating them

More and more of America’s once pristine heartland

Is being taken over by gigantic coal mining operations

And our Congressmen recently passed a horrendous bill

Which will block - any and all - toxic coal slurry regulations

And so very sadly, just about every Presidential candidate today

Says that they want to abolish The Environmental Protection Agency

They want to give free reign to coal, gas, and oil producing companies

And now allow all of them, to pollute our vast nation, from sea to toxic sea

I was feeling quite nostalgic yesterday,

I drove out to a childhood fishing hole;

But I couldn’t even get out of my truck,

It was now toxic, filled with slurry coal.

At this horridly large and unlined slurry pond,

They ‘clean the coal’ from 30 different mines;

These deadly toxins spill into adjacent waters,

But few are concerned, or view this as a crime.

The once pristine landscapes of our nation,

Are now so hideously vanishing, every day;

But very few seem to even notice, or to care,

As so very much of what we had, is swept away.

Heavy metal pollution is pervasive and deadly, often taking years to manifest. Deregulation is insanity. I guess that's going to be the politician's defense strategy...pleading insanity. Patrick

This is utterly outrageous...Mother Earth is dying a painful death, where do we go from here? I had a dream that we all found a way to live on Mars, it was like the Garden of Eden..How many centuries would it take to kill that planet? We are disgusting and harmful to Mother Earth, I want the Native American cultures to come back and take over and re-invent how we live..No money, no cell phones, no computers just smoke signals and peace and love and harmony...I am going now, but we are in for bigger trouble than we have ever had. that is for sure!!!

Peace, love and light,

Someone is fishing for money now, where you once fished for fish, I'd just like to know, what chef they got to cook the crispy million dollar bills to make em tasty, after all they're paper thin, maybe use them for spring rolls, but then spring soon be a thing of the past, for a long winter of discontent is coming soon, till one day, the fish will be back, if ever.

We can live without coal, that much i know, but it doesn't much matter for no matter how they make electricity or whatever, we still pollute our mother Earth and one day it will be beyond clean up...e
