Riding in circles,

Around & around,

Merry go round,

No where bound…

Grabbing the ring,

That is the, to do, thing,

Nothing like today’s bling,

Just enjoy the riding…

Waving at mom,

Amusements keep kids calm,

Better than being at home,

Dealing with computers rom,

Almost as relaxing as reading psalm…

I have warm and wonderful memories about the Merry-Go-Round. A long time ago, I wrote a poem called Merry-Go-Round which was a tribute to my Grandfather who used to take me to the one in Griffith Park, California. I was a bit intimidated by the actual movement of the horses and the vibration from the motor, but I was so completely consumed by the pleasure it seemed to bring to my Grandfather as he watched me that I made myself relax and just enjoy the ride...it became an excellent lesson to carry through life. I am sure he had no idea how much stronger those rides made me as a person or how they were so instrumental in forming me into the woman I am. Face your demons and enjoy the beauty of the conquering. I believe that I re-wrote that poem and it here on my site if you should every feel like taking a look. I was really young when I wrote it, so when I read it now, though it brings back the memories so clearly, it seems obvious to me that I was not used to writing poetry at that time...again, a tribute to my Grandfather who LOVED poetry and would recite or read it to me, all the time, while I sat on his lap. I was always a short story writer, but for my Grandpa and in his memory, I started writing poetry. Loved this, Ed and really appreciated you bringing that huge flood of memories back to me this morning.
Take care,
Sherry

Good News, Bro. Ma says if you're a good boy, she's gonna give old Cuz Cur a few bucks to take you on a Merry-Go-Round ride when he comes to visit you. So Behave Until Then!

And make sure you take your Motion Sickness Medication before you get on that Carousel; old Cuz Cur says he won't clean up any of your projectiles!

Saw a carousel on the Mall in Washington, D.C. right across the street from the Smithsonian Museum. I remarked, "Look, Congress is in session."
No wonder they remain in amusement at the barkers and the clown, up there on sugar mountain, er, I mean Capitol Hill!

Thanks for ride!
