As I remember her, my friend, while she was with us.

Goodbye My Friend

A kindly lady
Through and through
Tough as nails at times
But gentle too

You lived a life
To help us all
And showed the way
To one and all

Life has been good
To you and yours
Until this horrid cancer took
A hold on you

The pain and anguish
You endured
Your family
Suffered too

Now at last you are at peace
Sleep safely
On the other side
May angels now take care of you.

When someone dies we want to honor them. You did this in a very real and touching poem. Some say, forget, don't think of the past. We try not to recall the suffering our loved ones endured, but sometimes we must acknowledge the pain that was so real to them. And then we can rest.

While she can no longer feel the pain of her cancer, this poem will help soothe the pain for those that were left behind.

It is always sad for us when a friend crosses over but there is also a sense of relief when we know that their suffering has finally come to an end. I am so sorry for your loss, may she rest in peace.
Take care,
Sherry
