Going through the valley can cause us to lose sight of the fact that it's just a place in time; things do get better
|
Traveling through the valley slowly/
mountains skew what my eyes see/
casting shadows long before me/
& ominous portraits in the sky/
Looking toward distant horizons/
overwhelms my wearied mind/
obliterated destination/
& courage from a former life/
If I could catapult this moment/
Far beyond this loathsome road/
A part of me would grasp for sunlight/
Bypass afflictions lesson plan/
As much as I despise the process/
navigating inch-by-inch/
I know that with a single footstep/
a thousand miles will soon been crossed/
Today I choose to keep the cadence/
moving on beneath the clouds/
I feel the burden being lifted/
A brighter day is sure to come/
Traveling through the valley slowly/
mountains skew what my eyes see/
casting shadows long before me/
& ominous portraits in the sky......
