A peek into the life of an Ironworker. I dedicate this poem to my brother, Marty.

He's an artist in iron
He's a dif'rent kind of breed
He's a hired gun for the Agent
Sent from job to job by need
'Builds real castles in the air
'Walks that iron without a care
When he's on the ground - beware
Sky Cowboy

With a spud wrench in his left fist
And a good grip in his right
If you're messin' with a "brother"
Then you're lookin' for a fight
Nothin' standin' in his way
Don't have nothin' much to say
Top Out a job - he's on his way
Sky Cowboy

What a wonderful poem to celebrate your brother and what he did to make his way in the world. There are men and then there are MEN, Jane, and I understand you know the difference. This is a grand poem and I thank you for writing it.

We all admire these guys for their courage and their skill. Thanks for writing about your brother. I admire him already.

From loadin to unloadin
Cranes keep that steel a'floatin
Joists and deck laid
Concrete floors w/rebar pourin' made
Look up - Look down
Keep that hard hat on till you reach the ground.
Take it off when we hit town.

Thanks Jane for the memories.
