What better way to post my 250th poem than a tribute to my precious father...(Dec. 13, 1927 - Dec. 14, 1997) You left too soon, Dad...sigh....

Quiet wisdom cleverly concealed
Behind his wrinkly brow!
He couldn’t read; he couldn’t write
But he made it through life somehow!

He drank from nature’s purest springs
Where the waters were cool and clear!
And lived his life in harmony
With all that he held dear!

His deep respect for nature’s gifts
And his love for God and man,
Gave him enlightenment few achieve
Or would even understand!

The simple things meant the most to him,
Not a penny did he possess!
Yet he was wealthy beyond belief,
Though no one would have guessed.

My father’s truths were sacred to him,
But he shared them freely with me.
And gave me the wisdom to live my life
In peace and harmony!

Anna, I was just thinking of you out of the blue as I was on a long hike in the sunshine. This uplifting gift of appreciating life and nature is what you bring to your poetry and all of these beautiful things come also from inside your spirit! You are happiness personified, and I'm sure your father is a big part of that.

What a wonderful tribute full of love and admiration you have given your father. And I know, Anna, if it is possible for him to be, he is smiling, smiling and nodding. This touched this old grizzled guy down here in the swamp.
