Housecall cosmetology service three years ago, to house-bound people, Diana's Salon Service, before my elbows gave out.
I bring them hair and nail care, feet and hands.
I bring them attention.
I bring them a listener who doesn't interrupt for one solid hour and a half.
I bring them a smile and a laugh.
I bring them energy they can see from their chairs, looking at me doing hair.
I bring them a better glimpse of themselves in a mirror.
I bring them yogurt from the refrigerator because it is snack time for them.
I bring them all the skills I've collected in my little 57 years...and then...
They bring me back to their time...long, long past.
I like those places they go, horses and buggies, before TV, before me.
Same time next week? I ask.

|Isn't it wonderful how we can touch a soul. Bring happiness to their life. I love the elderly, they have so much to offer and so many are forgotten. This had to be so fulfilling for you. Both giving and also learning. When I go to market they are the ones I seek out, I love their stories and they are so appreciative.
Thank you Diana :)

|Adorable imagery...I can see the sweet little ladies all dolled up! What a great service you provided them....and probably the most important thing you gave them was your attention....

|Sounds like a service in which the greatest "Profit" has nothing to do with monetary gain. Sorry your elbows didn't hold up, but it's our gain..... you probably wouldn't have had time for all this neat poetry otherwise.

|Ah, what a great thing to be doing. It makes my good feelings that I was having because I took a bunch of books to an old folks home last week pale by comparison. Good for you, Diana.|
