             you flower

                          the brightest of color

       complementary variables

  of shade

 and hue

mixed tones of light with emotion

penetrate into the stigma

                             of your reasoning

            your mysterious pollen

                            lifted by currents of desire

craves the course

       crafted by unknown hands

       by your fever

     aromatic dreams

                          arrange barren breezes

                   until you finally arrive

... methinks this is not a general ode to the season - though, of course, it can be! I can't help but read "your" in that opening line - instead of "you" - and that brings to mind your mother's eternally blooming plant and, from that, thoughts of other more exotic, hot-house plants and their intoxicating headiness. Reminds me muchly also of the emotions inherent in "passion between flowers" and even, in contrapuntal mood, of ka-boom and that "mystical museum" of alluring, voluptuous voices. Botanical garden glass houses are a kind of cathedral in which this elegant psalm of praise would sit well. A beautiful portrait in words that certainly aren't sepia, that's for sure... though, of course, their pollen seeps into all the places it should to achieve a full effect! :)) xx

spring for me jude is period of readjustment - my psyche is in hibernation throughout winter, which i long ago came to loathe - horrible as it is to say that regarding a season - it is the changing hues that abound in nature with springs promise that make me want feel alive again - to bask in long days of sunlight to cheer Bing outside, with no coat - your interpretation is a romantic one that is easy to appreciate -- i wish you love and peace my friend -- Jon Michael

Well worth the wait. Seems like it hits harder the further north you live. Maybe because winter is so long. Strange that you would write it now I wrote my first poem with that title when I was a teenager.

a floral scent brought tenderly to life in the imagery of this poem creates a synaesthetic palimpsest... pointing to the immanent visitation of our dear longed-for Season... an honorific heralding indeed, Jude... coloured in tones of pensive patience... may your Spring be filled with new growth tempered with the experience of a finely aged soul...

...nicely penned release...

Spring is coming fast, here in Albuquerque. Every day I go outside and see the works of wonder that they Spring fairies have done in my garden, while I was sleeping. It is life unfolding until one day, Spring is everywhere I look and the joy of the season will fill each molecule of my being. Your poem is as beautiful as all the gorgeous columbine that bloomed this morning next to my fence where a kitten lay in a fuzzy little ball soaking up the sunshine. Happy Spring and Happy Easter to you, Jude. Let the renewal of life begin!!
Take care,

Hey Jude,
This ode to spring is just lovely. I absolutely love the last few lines:

aromatic dreams, arrange barren breezes until you finally arrive...

Yes, the arrival of spring on a full moon how more lovely a cosmic energy can we ask for.

Nice work as usual, you never disappoint this reader..

Peace and love,

This is of great substance: "mixing tones of light with emotion" . Creates a fullness alluding to the whole idea of a flower.....the bloom...and how it affects us. Fragrant delicacy of a writing. ~~ Diana
