|Who would've thought that a log would have so much character. But then I guess it was burning to tell us so… So you helped out. Brilliant!

|My logs all got termites. Burn low and slow but it's OK, the fire marshal says I shouldn't exceed the fire rating of the firebox anyway. Patrick|

|a perfect teaser and scrumptious metaphor in the grandest manner of Katedom - "soft residue of memory's smoke" pleases my creative side and turns me a bit green, with envy for not having ever written it myself - please, throw another "log" onto the artistic fires - I wish you love and peace my dear friend - Jon Michael|

|Mmm, one of your masterpieces!
Such hypnotic rhythm and sonics and that song is brought into it at just the right time...

|A thirst quenching drink of pure logic encapsulated in lyrical metaphor. So many suffer not knowing such feelings and can't express what it's like to long for the return of that sense of reciprocal love--whether real or vicarious. The subtext resounds in this piece, suggesting few know the difference between imagined love and that which transcends explanation and exists onto itself for its own sake. You obviously have a handle on that conundrum.|

|I love both fireplaces and campfires, and there's nothing better than becoming lost in their embers. I also like that song by Evanescence very much.|

|Ah but you do manage well to spark my imagination with this romp through your thoughts on screen. I must wonder if I would or have ever stayed up late in front of the fireplace to watch its last spark go quietly into that good night just before dawn breaks.

|totally rolled over by the imagery and innuendo in this twilight endeavor, Kate ... ... this poem definitely sparkles my synapses and awakens the smoky residue of my heart ... a poem to be fondled and caressed, and to dream about daily ...|

|Kate, a smoldering soliloquy. Great succinct terms of "slow-burn", "lace of my fire", "my bark is gone". Radiant! ~~ Diana|

|Taking the dream to another level, Kate, and oh! Before I forget, I love the new photo. Back to the dream-scape and the face-licking, however gentle. Love, love, love, "soft residue of memory's smoke / and unforgotten fragrance." Plus it is all even better "when you drift back here / to sleep." Gotta love it!!!!!!|
