rememberances from 1986
Trade winds shape Divi Divi trees
pointing towards her sole highway
on this small desert isle country
short miles north of Venezula.
Cactus fences harboring goats
in her two only villages
a scuttled half sunken German
now home for beautiful corals.
Big Mouth and Ugly Mouth inlets
near an extinct refineries
crystal blue inviting waters
where colorful sealife abounds.
One offshore dump attracts all sharks
makes snorkeling, diving fun each day
gambling at night and fine dining
what a place for relaxation.

|It's funny about the things that paint our memory banks. You have painted a bit of scenery here. As Jerry stated, you are going way back a bit. That's where many memories hide out. Ah, gambling and fine dining..Sounds better than sharks being fun when diving..lol

|Aruba, Aruba and how I want to hold ya… There's a Jimmy buffet song there somewhere. Never been to the desert island, but my twin brother has. Everyone enjoys it in Aruba except for young females who connect with nefarious males who have a way of killing them.

|Remembrances from 1986, eh? You're going a long way back. But if they were beautiful memories they will never die, and by the words of this poem, I can just bet they are nice memories.|
