Susannah Wesley is said to have used her apron to cover her head just to have some daily quiet time with God in her household of 10 active children.

He bids you go into your closet and pray,
but what of those times in your life
when there is no letup and no place to hide
and you feel beaten down by the strife?

Sometimes the closet is in the garage,
all cluttered with myriad "stuff,"
sometimes the back porch, sheltered from rain,
is the closet where you feel God's touch,

or climbing a hill on a beaten-down path
where only the wild things trod,
but your loving Creator goes one step ahead
as you walk and you talk with your God.

You may find Him in rush-hour traffic,
alone in your car on a long, boring drive.
When trouble and heartache loom o'er your path,
talking with Jesus makes you feel alive!

One busy mother with a family of twelve
pulled her apron up over her head;
in that plain cotton refuge, she met with her Lord
'till burdens were lifted, leaving calm in their stead.

There's always a place for prayer in your heart,
though it takes just a moment of your time,
and God's always waiting with welcoming arms
to refresh and renew you with His power divine.

"But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet,
and when thou hast shut thy door,
pray to thy Father which is in secret;
and thy Father which seeth in secret
shall reward thee openly
"
(Matthew 6:6, KJV)
