Sometimes plans go awry for both.

There once was a mouse
Who lived in a house
And happened to love Swiss cheese

Lady of the house
Tried to catch that mouse
And set up a trap to seize

Now that rodent small
Had heard of the fall
Of one who had laid a plan

The other got caught
By a man who bought
The best trap found in the land

Plans of men and mice
Thought to be precise
Don't always go as they're thought

Lady of the house
Who hated that mouse
Went marketing where she bought

A chunk of Swiss cheese
Then placed it with ease
Within the trap which she had

That little mouse saw
He peeked through one paw
Knowing her plan he was glad

This little mouse bold
With his nose he rolled
A kernel of corn he found

Out of a bag torn
While making popcorn
He rolled it without a sound

Right into the trap
Which slammed with a snap
Shooting Swiss cheese in the air

Mouse stuffed in his cheeks
Enough cheese for weeks
Went to sleep in Lady's chair

Clever and delightful, I love the rhyme and the rhythm. Very nicely done, Jane. Thank you! Love and best wishes,
