Written in praise of Runkerry Strand, where the River Bush meets the sea.

‘As rivers meet the sea’

Heaven touched the earth below,

Where sweetly still the waters flow

And there in constant echoing hymn,

The rivers sing of storms within

The ripples straining to the ocean wide,

Unleashing waves against the tides

Flying spume that fills the air,

Flung high from rocks now naked and bare

Rushing to their final embrace,

Springs eternal to take their place

Onwards ever as they must,

Grinding shells to sand and dust

Create, destroy the endless shore,

Return again to then restore

Caressed and smoothed the God’s deliver

Views to steal your heart forever

Mary Cecil

I can feel the shore as though I was there. Very well written.
