For the adult, when one’s mother is gone, reflections brings sorrow of missed opportunities…. and yes, a bit of the Hallmark sentiment is unavoidable at times.


Memory echoes the footfalls
Through paths we did not take
Nudging the door we feared to open
Conjoined spirits blind of gardens beyond
Where you must be at rest now
