I walked among
Those-
Who thought
They knew me
I didn't even know myself
My real self... ...
Pushing my feelings back
Over and over again
Only to have them
Pop up again
Predisposed
Or-
Born this way
I will never know. . .

So very personal, and yet you want to reveal the feeling in a poem. Maybe it's time to let the light shine through.

It's
sad when you know someone who surpresses the person they really are...simply because living their reality might bring hurt and rejection upon them....I've known so many...Touching write, Deborah!

I don't think any of us really know ourselves completely Deborah. We have all self-examined ourselves more than once. A completely normal thing self-examination. It is our path of discovery :)

Thank you for sparking the mind with this thought
