Dreams are true while they last, and do we not live in dreams? ~Alfred, Lord Tennyson~

Dream a Dream

Parted lips upon your cheek

A dream imparted we bespeak

I deem you here though but a dream

Amid I stand on shores of cream

Beheld are you within my arms

So sweetly held with all your charms

Lilac sweet and tenderness

My Lorelei so blemishless

For it a dream I know of this

Although I see you in my midst

Awake within my gracious thoughts

Or do I only see the plot

I dream a dream to behold you

For it not wrong I must construe

Far reaching from my gentle touch

Tormenting me it is too much

All that seems or seem not be

Cannot be my fantasy

For what I see I know is true

Visions held for if you knew

I part from thee of you my dream

Your scented waters touching thee

Although I weep I must depart

Your cream sands and pure of heart

Withdrawing now you fade away

My vision gone I must dismay

For what we see becomes a dream

Or is a dream within a dream

For this dream becomes my slave

For not a dream that she doth came

Upon my pillow fragrance stays

My Lorelei for whenst you laid
