Foray into an asylum...

strictly fiction from a dream...

Str8 jacket

Cuffs

Nothing of your own

Naked to the world

Hair cut to the nub, never curled…

Bathed

So far unscathed

Won’t come out that way

Is the only good thing I could say…

Drugged

By other patients mugged

Everything taken

Clothes, money, virginity

Now I regret my mental fakin’…

Better than prison?

Better to hang from a mast mizzen

Hope my self-esteem can be again risen…

Is that what your mother told you? If you keep playing that thing you're going to end up in an asylum? ;-)

It truely is a bad dream to think of being in a place like that but sadder still is how only a short time ago these places actually existed and were encouraged and often used as a place to hide away not only the insane but those who just didn't fit society's idea of normal...good thing you weren't around then Ed. oops

Ed,
The word asylum is not always the right word for the places we use the word for.
